Our studio is an affirming place where each child is guided
to explore their own unique musicality.
Beth’s philosophy of teaching music is that children should be intrinsically motivated.
In other words, music should come from the inside out, not the outside in. In Beth's non-competitive Con Brio Studios,, competition, shame, “shoulds", and lots of rules and regulations are not welcome companions. Instead, she enjoys guiding students as they develop their own musical ideas, their own compositions, and their own musical voice. Her private piano and voice lesson students work at their own pace, help choose their own repertoire (within limits), and are motivated by their own musical passions. Her homeschool choirs are inter-curricular explorations of many different subjects, using music as the tool to remember the subject matter. Beth specializes in teaching music to children with disabilities or special needs and believes that music can truly bring people together in ways that no other medium can. In addition, Con Brio Studios produces summer camps, custom music workshops and recitals as part of their ongoing programs.
Beth believes that music can transform lives and change the world.
As a pianist, choir director and Artistic Director at her own Con Brio Studios in Orange County, California, Beth has a deeper purpose than just making pretty music or executing music with excellence. Each piece of music is a tool for the listener and the performer) to go deeper within themselves, to find their own Truth, to respond and take action.
